RIVERSIDE, CA (December 7, 2021) – Sunday morning, a person died in a multi-vehicle crash on 215 Freeway near Columbia Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 6:30 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on southbound 215 Freeway, north of Columbia Avenue.
Reports revealed that the crash started when a pickup truck suffered a flat tire. Then, it slowed down and stopped while two vehicles behind it stopped as well. Another vehicle, a Honda Civic, failed to stop and struck the line of vehicles ahead.
Moreover, responders rushed the female driver of the civic to Riverside Community Hospital where she later died. Also, officials confirmed that two more drivers suffered injuries. One of them was taken to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested the driver of the third vehicle in line, a Toyota Corolla, for suspicion of DUI.
