4 Hospitalized in Deadly Gray County Auto Accident on County Road D

GRAY COUNTY, CA (February 15, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a person died and four people sustained injuries in a rollover crash on County Road D.

The incident happened at around 1:15 p.m. on County Road D.

According to reports, an eastbound 2006 Nissan Titan pickup traveled at a high rate of speed on a dirt road. Then, it veered towards the opposite side ditch and overcorrected the steering. As a result, the side skids rolled down a ditch, ejecting multiple passengers of the vehicle.

Moreover, responders transported the 16-year-old female driver of the vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries to a hospital. Also, they took a 17-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries, a 16-year-old girl with serious injuries, and a 12-year-old boy with serious injuries. Moreover, they also took an 11-year-old boy with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities confirmed that the 17-year-old boy from Albuquerque succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Meanwhile, the fatal crash remained under investigation.
