Mother Killed, Father and Son Hurt in Pala Accident on Highway 76

 
PALA, CA (August 23, 2020) – Late Thursday night, a woman died while two others suffered injuries in a crash on Highway 76.
 
According to reports, a 30-year-old man driving a Subaru sedan contacted authorities around 6:15 a.m. He reported that he was involved in a crash during the night on Highway 76. However, he’s uncertain where because he was unconscious following the crash.
 
Thus, the personnel with the state agency and sheriff’s deputies started looking for a vehicle. Then, they found it around a half-hour later roughly 300 feet down a steep embankment near Bodie Road. They located the car on the grounds of Wilderness Gardens Preserve, CHP public-affairs Officer Mark Latulippe revealed.
 
Moreover, the authorities also found a seriously injured 11-year-old boy and his father near the wreckage. They also found the body of the juvenile’s 30-year-old mother.
 
Medical responders airlifted the father and son to Palomar Medical Center and Rady Children’s Hospital. Latulippe added that both of them will survive from their injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the man who reported the crash said that the incident happened late Thursday night as the family headed home from a trip to Palomar Mountain. At this time, it’s still unclear why the sedan went off the south side of the two-lane back-country highway and fell down the hillside. Eventually throwing off the three occupants.
 
At this time, the authorities do not believe that intoxication played a role in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, reports also stated that the family’s dog was in the car during the collision. The authorities are still looking for the dog Friday afternoon.
