29-Year-Old Fresno Woman Fatally Injured in Edgar Avenue Accident, Jackie Ray Cross Hospitalized
REEDLEY, CA (May 30, 2018) – A rollover crash on South Alta Avenue took the life of a woman and injured a man, early Wednesday morning.
The accident took place around 3:00 AM at the S Alta and Edgar Avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol. It occurred just south of Highway 180 and northeast of Reedley.
A 1990 GMC truck, driven by an unidentified 29-year-old Fresno woman, was traveling on S Alta, approaching Edgar Ave. She failed to make the curve at the connection of the two streets, and drove off the road into a power guy wire. From the impact, the vehicle overturned, ejecting the woman and her passenger.
27-year-old Jackie Ray Cross of Dinuba sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment and evaluation. There is no update on his current condition. The woman was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency responders.
Authorities continue to investigation the fatal accident. The cause of the collision is unclear at this time, or if drugs and alcohol were contributing factors. No additional information was immediately available.
