Driver Arrested after Fatal Solo Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 in Mountain View

Mountain View, CA (August 10, 2023) – Early Thursday morning, one person died, and another sustained injuries in a solo vehicle crash on Highway 101.

The fatal crash happened at 3:43 a.m. on August 10.

CHP said a 2019 Ford Edge carrying a driver and two additional passengers hit the concrete divider between Highway 101 and the express lane ramp to Highway 85, killing the passenger in the front-right seat.

EMS transported one passenger to a hospital with moderate injuries.

The driver, a 23-year-old San Jose resident, suffered minor injuries in the crash.

He was arrested on suspicion of a felony for driving under the influence and transported to Santa Clara County Main Jail.
