Auburn Hit-and-Run on Cleveland Avenue Kills Man and Injures Another
AUBURN, CA (October 17, 2019) — A hit-and-run on Cleveland Avenue near High Street left one man dead and another one injured Wednesday morning.
The Auburn police said the incident occurred at about 2 a.m. The driver tried to hit two people in front of Bob and Betty’s One Sixty Club. One person was struck and had minor injuries.
While trying to leave the scene, the driver hit the third person which resulted in serious injuries. That third person later succumbed to their injuries.
Auburn residents said Bob and Betty’s One Sixty Club is not known for conflicts. It is a family-owned bar frequented by locals.
Meantime, the police believe that the driver plowed into those people on purpose. They have not released the victim’s name. Information about the suspect and the vehicle involved was also not immediately available. Further investigation is underway.
