Driver Killed in Collision with Commercial Truck near Bear Creek Drive

MURRIETA, CA (October 18, 2018) – A man was killed Thursday morning following a head-on crash on Clinton Keith Road near the Santa Rosa Plateau. The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

According to the Murrieta Police Department, the incident took place at about 8:25 AM near Bear Creek Drive. A Toyota Rav 4 vehicle was heading eastbound on Clinton Keith when it veered over the center line on the two-lane road. There, it collided with a westbound commercial truck.

The driver of the SUV suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders. Another person sustained injuries, but it was unknown whether or not they required hospitalization.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fatal crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
