1 Dead 1 Injured in Fiery Head-On Collision on I-10 [Phoenix, AZ]

Injuries Reported in Fatal Collision on Interstate 10

Phoenix, AZ (July 1, 2022) On Wednesday, a 2-vehicle head-on collision injured 1 person and killed another on I-10.

AZDPS responded to the scene near 24th street at about 12 a.m. and found 1 vehicle overturned and on fire.

Officials say that they have received multiple reports of the fatal collision. The crash is blocking multiple lanes on westbound I-10.

Moreover, DPS says that a pickup truck eastbound on I-10 veered off left at high speed and flew into the air, and collided head-on with another truck.

Rescuers extricated a man out of the wreckage, he sustained a minor leg injury.

Meanwhile, the truck driver who went airborne was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities closed Westbound I-10 between 24th Street and Jefferson Street exits as they investigate the scene.
