Savannah Dees Arrested After Fatal Crash on County Road M in Glenn County

Glenn County, CA (October 28, 2024) – A 5-year-old child died in a suspected DUI crash on County Road M on Saturday night.

According to the CHP, the crash occurred around 6 p.m. when 24-year-old Savannah Dees, from Olivehurst, drove her 2009 Ford southbound on County Road M, south of County Road 27, in northern unincorporated Glenn County. 

CHP reported that Dees continued southbound at an unknown speed over the 55 mph limit and turned the vehicle west, causing it to cross the road’s edge and strike a power pole. 

The impact caused the Ford to overturn multiple times before coming to a stop along the west shoulder of County Road M.

As a result, a 5-year-old child lost their life, while two other children, ages one and two, suffered minor injuries, according to CHP officials.

The preliminary investigation into the crash’s cause is ongoing, though alcohol and drugs appear to be factors. 

Dees was arrested, and Officer J. Blanken of the CHP Willows Area is leading the investigation.
