1 Injured in San Bernardino Car Crash on Highway 18
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (April 6, 2020) – On April 2, a head-on crash on Highway 18 near Richard Street left one person with injuries.
The early morning crash on Thursday occurred at 6:49 a.m. on Highway 18 near Richard Street in Lucerne Valley.
Reports revealed that when the firefighters responded to the scene, they found a tractor-trailer that landed on its side and a small sedan with major damage.
The firefighters also reported that they conducted extensive extrication to free a trapped person in their car.
The authorities also dispatched an air ambulance to land at the nearby Mitsubishi cement plant.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol incident logs revealed that one of the double-trailers on the semi (which was overturned) blocked the road.
At 7:53 a.m., the crews finished the extrication. The medical responders flew the patient to Desert Regional Hospital in Palm Springs due to weather.
The crash is still being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
