69-Year-Old Man Injured after Yvonne Tejada Crashes into Santa Clarita Pizzeria

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (March 1, 2019) – Authorities arrested 40-year-old Yvonne Tejada following a DUI Crash on Lyons Avenue near Wiley Canyon Road.
 
According to the Santa Clarita Police Department, the incident happened shortly after 12:30 PM. Tejada’s vehicle lost control and crashed through the front window of Ameci Pizza and Pasta.
 
The vehicle struck a 69-year-old man, who is a regular customer at the pizzeria. Soon after, emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Recent updates did not provide the man’s current medical condition.
 
The car immediately backs out of the restaurant, but it’s believed it came to a stop in the parking lot out front after striking a stationary vehicle.
 
Police arrested Tejada after she failed a sobriety test with a blood alcohol level of 0.31. She tested nearly four times over the legal limit of 0.8 percent. Authorities booked her on charges of suspected DUI causing grievous bodily injury.
 
An investigation is ongoing to identify other possible contributing factors. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to cooperate with investigators. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
