Millicent Lewis Dies in Palm Springs 3-Vehicle Crash
Riverside County, CA (September 6, 2023) – On Sunday, 32-year-old Yovani Tapia, 29-year-old David Losacco, and Millicent Lewis, all from Escondido, were killed in a North Gene Autry Trail collision.
Police officers responded at 2:48 p.m. Sunday to a 3-vehicle collision between Salvia Road and Via Escuela.
According to the investigators, two northbound vehicles on N Gene Autry Trail slowed down due to blowing sand. However, a third vehicle failed to slow down and rear-ended one of the vehicles.
The driver and two rear passengers in one of the vehicles died in the collision.
Moreover, the other people involved sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to a hospital.
Officers said they do not suspect that drugs or alcohol played a role in the fatal collision.
“As we prioritize the well-being of those injured and extend our support to the affected families during this challenging time, we remind all drivers to exercise caution and adhere to safe driving practices, especially when faced with adverse weather conditions,” the Palm Springs Police Department wrote in a statement Monday.
