Two Killed and One Injured in Car Collision near South Palm Canyon Drive and Via Salida
PALM SPRINGS, CA (March 17, 2018) – Two people were killed and one person was injured in a two-vehicle collision on East Palm Canyon Drive, early Saturday morning.
Police received a call about the accident around 2:07 AM. They arrived at the scene of the crash, near the area of East Palm Canyon Drive between South Palm Canyon Drive and Via Salida, to find two victims dead and one critically injured.
25-year-old Yesenia Hurtado-Gutierrez of Coachella and 21-year-old Daniel Rivera-Acosta of Palm Desert were fatally injured from the impact of the collision. Another person involved sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. There is no update on the identity or consition of this individual at this time.
The affected roadways were blocked off for about seven hours after the crash, while officers conducted an investigation. It was not immediately confirmed if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in this fatal collision.
