Yadira Gonzalez Killed in Traffic Accident on Highway 155 [Delano, CA]

26-Year-Old Female Driver Arrested after Fatal Crash near Zerker Road in Delano

 
DELANO, CA (May 14, 2020) – Early Wednesday morning, 44-year-old Yadira Gonzalez died in a traffic accident on Highway 155.
 
Officers responded just before 5:30 a.m., near Zerker Road. Responders described the involved vehicles as a Honda Civic, driven by Gonzalez, and a Chevrolet Cruz, driven by Reane Demery.
 
Authorities say the Chevy and Honda collided head-on. In addition, the Honda’s engine landed in a nearby almond orchard.
 
Reports revealed that the two drivers were the only occupants of their vehicles. Responders flew Gonzalez and Demery to Kern Medical Hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries.
 
Due to the impact of the collision, Gonzalez was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
 
In addition, officers later arrested 26-year-old Demery of Bakersfield, on suspicion of felony DUI.
