Driver Hit and Killed by Passing Vehicle after Getting Out of His Car on Highway 180

 
FRESNO, CA (November 11, 2019) – A man died after being struck by a passing vehicle Monday evening in Fresno, according to the CHP.
 
The fatal incident happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Highway 180 near Highway 41.
 
Authorities said a 20-year-old Xavier Olivares of Fresno crashed his car into the center median on eastbound Highway 180. After the crash, he got out of his car to evaluate the damage when a woman driving another vehicle ran into him.
 
As a result, Olivares suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
That incident led to another collision involving two other vehicles.
 
Authorities temporarily closed the highway while they investigated the crash. They said the woman was under the influence of alcohol.
