2 Teens Taken into Custody After 2-Vehicle Collision on Old Pearsall Road
Bexar County, TX (May 27, 2023) On Friday, a BCSO deputy and his K9 companion were struck in a wrong-way crash on Old Pearsall Road.
According to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the 2-vehicle collision happened at about noon on Old Pearsall Road near Ray Ellison.
Reports say that a wrong-way driver in a black sedan, crashed into the deputy’s vehicle causing injuries to a BCSO K9 deputy.
Officials say that the black sedan going the wrong way on Old Pearsall Road, when a deputy noticed this, the deputy attempted to do a traffic stop.
However, the wrong-way driver weaved in and out of the lanes and disappeared from the deputy’s line of vision.
Meanwhile, a BCSO K9 deputy laid down spikes to apprehend the suspects, however, the driver avoided the spikes, consequently, the wrong-way vehicle hit the deputy’s vehicle, which in turn pushed the vehicle and hit the deputy.
The impact of the collision led to the deputy losing consciousness, ultimately, the deputy suffered a concussion, bumps, and bruises.
Meanwhile, 2 young men left the vehicle and fled the scene towards into a cornfield. Officials later found both men 30 minutes later near a residence.
Authorities say that both young men are facing multiple felony charges that includes leaving the scene of a crash, evading arrest in a vehicle, and possibly aggravated assault of a peace officer.
