Three Hospitalized in Bremerton Rollover Collision on Highway 3

BREMERTON, WA (March 1, 2019) — A woman and two small children sustained injuries after a rollover crash on Thursday, February 21.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said that the solo-car rollover collision occurred before 10:30 a.m. on Highway 3 near Bremerton Airport.

The driver, a 63-year-old woman, admitted to being distracted by using a cell phone.

The vehicle drifted off the shoulder of the roadway, then she overcorrected and crossed into the opposite lane. The vehicle then left the roadway again and rolled over.

The woman sustained a shoulder injury, and two children in the vehicle had minor scrapes and scratches, according to the police. Paramedics transported both the woman and children to Harrison Medical Center for treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, police stated.

The roadway reopened at around noon Thursday.

As a driver, always ensure that you are alert and maintain safe following distances for your speed. Avoid distractions, especially your cell phone, and keep your eyes on the road. Even a brief moment of distraction can lead to dire consequences.
