Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle at Marks Avenue and McKinley Avenue [FRESNO, CA]

Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Passing Vehicle while Crossing Marks Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (December 22, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday night in west central Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported.
 
The fatal incident happened at the intersection of Marks Avenue and McKinley Avenue.
 
According to Fresno police, the woman was crossing the street when a passing northbound vehicle hit her. As a result, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Authorities say the driver stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
 
It is unknown why the woman was crossing the street, but officers say the driver had the right of way. He told police he didn’t have time to stop when he saw her.
 
The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
