Pedestrian Struck and Injured by Vehicle near Freedom Boulevard

WATSONVILLE, CA (November 20, 2018) – A woman was injured Tuesday morning following a pedestrian crash on Clifford Drive. The identity of the victim was not disclosed to the public.

According to the Watsonville Police Department, the incident happened near Freedom Boulevard, at about 8:00 AM. A pedestrian was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle.

The victim suffered critical injuries to the head and was airlifted to a trauma center, where she was listed in serious condition. Further updates on her current medical conditions were not immediately provided. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the collision, which remains under investigation. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
