Woman Seriously Injured in Car Versus Truck Collision on Highway 33 [Taft, CA]

Motorist Trapped in Wrecked Car Wedged Underneath Tractor-Trailer on Cadet Road

Taft, CA (October 22, 2020) – On Wednesday, a female motorist was seriously injured in a car versus truck collision on Highway 33 at Cadet Road.

Moreover, Taft Police says the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. when a Hyundai Elantra impacted a 53-foot trailer in front of the rear wheels.

Incidentally, the car got wedged underneath the trailer, trapping the woman driver for over 25 minutes.

Furthermore, the Kern County firefighters had to cut the roof of the Elantra and pried the doors open to set the female driver free.

Subseq1uently, the roadways were impassible for about 2 hours, as tow trucks are clearing the wreckage.

Meanwhile, the truck driver did not suffer any injuries.

Lastly, Taft  PD is still investigating the crash to know what was the cause of the collision. No details are available as of yet.
