DELANO, CA (June 28, 2020) – Early Saturday morning, a woman died in a train accident on Highway 99, just north of Delano.
 
According to reports, the incident occurred just after 2:00 a.m. on southbound Highway 99 near Avenue 8.
 
A woman driving a vehicle sideswiped a big rig. Then, it drove off the road onto nearby railroad tracks paralleling Highway 99. As a result, the woman’s vehicle was hit by a train before responders could rescue her.
 
Furthermore, some travelers attempted to help the woman before the rescuers arrived. Unfortunately, the oncoming train hit her.
