Israel Arevalo Cocotl Arrested after DUI Crash on Galveston Road in Houston

Houston, TX (February 10, 2023) – Wednesday night, a woman died in a solo vehicle DUI crash on Galveston Road.

Subsequently, police arrested 34-year-old Israel Arevalo Cocotl on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The fatal crash in Houston happened at 9:55 p.m. on February 8.

Houston Police said Cocotl was driving a black Ford F150 pickup truck with a woman passenger. 

Officers were told Cocotl and the woman, 25, were in an argument when the woman took off her seatbelt and left the truck while it was still moving.

The pickup truck struck and reportedly hit the woman. She died at the crash scene.

Police said Cocotl showed signs of impairment and took him into custody.

Moreover, Cocotl was subsequently charged.
