1 Dead in Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident on Rainbow Boulevard and Spring Valley Parkway
LAS VEGAS, NV (February 22, 2021) – Sunday night, a woman died in a pedestrian crash on Rainbow Boulevard and Spring Valley Parkway.
The incident occurred at around 8:00 a.m., said Metropolitan Police Department Lt. David Gordon. According to reports, the pedestrian crossed Rainbow Boulevard at Spring Valley Parkway outside of a crosswalk.
Then, a 2013 Chrysler 200 driving at the intersection on a green light struck the pedestrian.
The authorities noted that the woman wore all-black clothing while pushing a shopping cart. Responders took her to University Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old male driver of the Chrysler has been cooperative and didn’t show signs of impairment.
The authorities confirmed that the incident was the 16th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year. At this time, the authorities are withholding the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
