Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle near Alvarado Court
FALLBROOK, CA (October 19, 2018) – On Friday evening, a woman was killed in a pedestrian crash on East Alvarado Street. The victim’s identity was not yet released, pending notification of loved ones.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 9:00 PM, near Alvarado Court.
Based on an initial assessment, the victim was walking in the eastbound lane of Alvarado Street when she was struck by an unidentified vehicle. The driver did not stop and continued heading east after the incident. There is no description of the hit-and-run driver or the vehicle involved.
Fire personnel took the injured woman to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
Authorities are still conducting an investigation to locate and identify the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle, and to identify possible contributing factors. No further details have been disclosed to the public as the investigation continues.
