Pedestrian Killed in Las Vegas Crash
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 30, 2020)—A woman died in a pedestrian accident Friday night at East Flamingo Road and South Swenson Street.
According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department release, the incident happened around 6:20 p.m.
Evidence at the scene showed that a 2019 Ford Transit van, turning from southbound Swenson Street onto eastbound Flamingo Road, struck the pedestrian.
Authorities believe the driver had a green arrow while the pedestrian began walking against a “Don’t Walk” sign, entering the van’s path as it attempted its turned.
Police at the scene said the driver showed no signs of impairment. As an investigation took place at the scene, the pedestrian was brought to Sunrise Trauma Hospital where she died from her injuries.
Because details remain scant, authorities plan to investigate this case further.
