1 Dead in Fresno County Auto Accident on Highway 269 and Ford Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (August 12, 2024) – Early Saturday, a woman died in a horrific vehicle crash on Highway 269 and Ford Avenue.

Reports said that the incident involving a Tesla and a truck occurred at about 12:25 a.m. on Highway 269, just north of Ford Avenue.

According to investigators, two Vista residents were traveling in a 2020 Tesla heading south on Highway 269, just north of Ford Avenue. Meanwhile, a driver from Dinuba was traveling in a 2019 GMC in the opposite direction, also southbound on Highway 269.

For reasons still under investigation, the Tesla reportedly veered into the southbound lane, moving directly into the path of the GMC. Although the Tesla’s driver attempted to avoid the collision, the GMC struck the passenger side of the Tesla.

As a result, the 27-year-old female passenger in the Tesla tragically lost her life, while the Tesla’s driver sustained cuts and lacerations. The GMC driver may have suffered a broken leg. Detectives do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, though the investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the woman from Vista has not yet been disclosed.
