Pedestrian Dies in Escondido Hit-and-Run Crash

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (April 4, 2019) – A woman died early Wednesday in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash along Highway 78 West near Rock Springs Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 911 caller reported seeing a victim on the right-hand shoulder of Highway 78.
 
Shortly after, paramedics arrived and pronounced her dead at the scene. They identified her as only a 26-year-old Escondido woman.
 
Reports did not specify the circumstances surrounding the accident. However, the involved vehicle was described as a green 2017 or 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan based on the debris at the scene.
 
Due to the ambiguity of this case, officials are urging witnesses to call the CHP at 858-637-3800.
