Woman Killed in Crash on Felton Empire Road near Fetherston Way [FELTON, CA]

Passenger Dies after Pickup Truck Crashes Down Embankment on Felton Empire Road

 
FELTON, CA (September 14, 2019) – A woman was killed in a car accident late Saturday evening in unincorporated Santa Cruz County.
 
The crash happened around 11:53 p.m. on Felton Empire Road, just west of Fetherston Way.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, a Toyota Tacoma veered off the roadway and fell more than 100 feet down the embankment.
 
As a result, the female passenger of the car died at the scene. Her identity was not immediately available pending family notification.
 
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old male driver of the pickup truck was taken to Valley Medical Center with serious injuries.
 
No arrests have been made and the CHP is investigating whether any other vehicles were involved.
 
The CHP is investigation the cause of the accident, but they say alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors.
