Driver Dies after Crashing Car into Light Pole on 15 Freeway in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 11, 2019) – A woman was killed when her car veered off the road in a crash on 15 Freeway early Sunday morning in San Diego.
The crash happened around 1:18 a.m. on northbound 15 Freeway at Carroll Canyon Road. The California Highway Patrol said the female driver lost control for unknown reasons, left the freeway and struck a tree and light pole. She died at the scene.
In addition, paramedics took the male passenger to the hospital with major injuries.
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol may have been involved.
The California Highway Patrol blocked several lanes of the freeway for two hours during the accident investigation.
