SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (July 21, 2019) – A woman died following a car accident early Sunday morning in San Juan Capistrano.

The crash happened a little before 1:00 a.m. along the westbound lanes of Highway 74, just East of San Juan Creek Bridge. According to the CHP, a white Toyota Corolla was heading westbound when it crashed into the right shoulder embankment.

The unidentified female passenger of the car suffered fatal injuries. As a result, authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.

Paramedics took the car’s driver to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo with unspecified injuries.

Police did not release any other information regarding the accident at this time. An ongoing investigation continues to determine the ultimate cause of the accident and liability.
