Woman Killed in 2-Car Accident on California Avenue [Riverside, CA]

Passenger Dies near Sherman Drive in Two-Vehicle Accident

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (April 8, 2019) – A two-car accident at California Avenue near Sherman Drive Friday morning left one person dead and two others injured.
 
According to a news release, the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. An 84-year-old Riverside resident driving a westbound gold Saturn attempted a left turn onto southbound Sherman Drive.
 
Subsequently, an eastbound silver Ford Taurus driven by a 42-year-old resident struck the Saturn as it turned.
 
As a result of the accident, a woman sitting in the front passenger seat of the Saturn died in the collision. Her driver suffered critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics.
 
Meanwhile, the Ford driver suffered only minor injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene.
 
It is unclear at this point where the fault lies yet an investigation is underway.
