Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on 44th Avenue [Tacoma, WA]

1 Dead in Tacoma Pedestrian Accident

 
TACOMA, WA (May 22, 2019) – A 77-year-old woman died and authorities arrested a man after a hit-and-run crash on 44th Avenue.
 
According to police, the suspect fled after hitting the woman in the 3000 block of 44th Avenue NE in Tacoma at about 9:30 p.m. on May 14.
 
Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries the next day at the hospital.
 
A tip from the public identified the suspect, Mark Best of the Tacoma police said.
 
Authorities took the suspect into custody without incident at around 1 p.m. on May 20.
