Woman Dead after Stockton Head-On Crash on Moroda Lane

STOCKTON, CA (February 11, 2019) – A woman in her 50s died after the vehicle she was riding in was involved in a head-on collision on Sunday, February 10.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman, whose identity was not released pending notification of next of kin by the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office, was one of the four occupants of a silver, older model Honda Accord that was traveling north on 99 Frontage Road from Morada Lane at around 12:40 p.m.

Traveling at approximately 35 to 40 miles an hour, the Honda cut a right curve in the road and drove straight into the southbound lane, where it crashed head-on with a Subaru Forester moving south at about the same speed, CHP Officer Kris Glenn stated.

Glenn said that there were no skid marks on the dry pavement behind the Honda, showing that the Honda driver may not have braked prior to the collision.

The driver of the Honda suffered moderate to serious injuries and was brought by ambulance to an area trauma hospital. The two other passengers were also taken to an area hospital for unspecified minor injuries, according to Glenn.

The occupants of the Subaru, believed to be a family of three including one child, were not hurt in the incident. All parties in both vehicles were wearing seat belts, he said, and neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have played a role in the crash.

Deepest condolences to the bereaved loved ones of the deceased victim. Wishing them strength and support during this very difficult time.
