1 Dead in Gilroy Auto Accident on Pacheco Pass Highway and Lovers Lane

 
GILROY, CA (August 3, 2021) – Saturday morning, a Los Banos woman died in a head-on crash on Pacheco Pass Highway and Lovers Lane.
 
The two-vehicle accident happened around 1:15 a.m. on Pacheco Pass Highway, west of Lovers Lane.
 
According to reports, a 2015 Chrysler 200 driver heading west veered left for unknown reasons. Then, the driver went over the yellow lines and crashed head-on with an eastbound 2009 Honda Fit.
 
As a result, the 60-year-old female passenger in the Honda died at the scene. Meanwhile, responders took the driver to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
Also, the Chrysler driver sustained minor injuries in the crash.
 
The authorities do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
