MERCED, CA (March 31, 2022) – Tuesday night, a woman died in a hit-and-run crash on Martin Luther King Jr Way and 14th Street.
 
The incident happened at about 10:00 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr Way and 14th Street. According to reports, an SUV struck a pedestrian.
 
Then, when officers arrived, they located a woman in her 40s with major injuries.
 
Thus, officers started performing life-saving measures on the woman. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
During the investigation, officers found that an SUV driver struck the woman and fled the scene.
 
Then, they located the SUV a couple of blocks away from the scene. However, they didn’t confirm whether they also found the driver.
