1 Dead, 1 Injured in Cupertino Fatal Accident on Highway 85

 
CUPERTINO, CA (September 23, 2020) – On Wednesday morning, a woman died in a crash on Highway 85 and 280 Freeway.
 
The crash happened at around 8:50 a.m. on the ramp from southbound state Highway 85 to southbound 280 Freeway.
 
According to reports, the 45-year-old woman drove a 2003 Lexus.
 
She traveled on the ramp from northbound Highway 85 to southbound Highway 280. However, she then lost control of her car and went over an elevated dirt median.
 
Then, her vehicle drove onto the other ramp and crashed with a 2015 Lexus. The impact forced both cars to strike a wood and metal guardrail.
 
As a result, the female driver of the 2003 Lexus succumbed to injuries at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the other victim to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with minor injuries.
 
Moreover, the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office will release the identity of the deceased after notifying the family.
