FRESNO COUNTY, CA (December 22, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a woman died in a major pin-in car crash on Clovis Avenue and Jefferson Avenue.
 
According to reports, the crash happened at about 10:00 a.m. on Clovis Avenue, south of Jefferson Avenue.
 
When the authorities arrived, they located two cars with eight total passengers.
 
Officers revealed that the Chevy Malibu had just the driver inside. Meanwhile, the Mercedes had seven people inside.
 
CHP spokesman Mike Salas revealed that the driver of the Mercedes was at fault. “Just a mistake that the car pulled out directly into the path of the other car.”
 
Officers confirmed that one woman died and 7 others sustained major injuries. The patients include four children between the ages of 2-4 years old.
 
Reports revealed that two of the children were in car seats. However, the other two sat on passengers’ laps during the crash.
 
“Obviously it’s overloaded by two people and there were no additional car seats which is definitely a major factor and very discerning.”
 
Also, firefighters used the jaws of life to free two trapped people in the car.
 
At this time, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
