Woman Killed after Crashing Car into Semi Truck on Highway 140 at Hayden Road [LE GRAND, CA]

Fatal Semi Truck and Car Crash on Highway 140 in Le Grand

 
LE GRAND, CA (May 25, 2019) – A 54-year-old Modesto woman was killed after her car crashed into a semi-trailer truck Saturday afternoon in Merced County.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:37 p.m. on Highway 140, just East of Hayden Road.
 
A 2017 Mack tractor truck had slowed down to a stop in the eastbound lane of the highway and was making a turn into a dirt driveway. There were other vehicles stopped behind the truck.
 
For unknown reasons, the woman driving a 2014 Honda Accord did not see the stopped vehicles in front of her. She swerved left to avoid the stopped cars and collided head-on with the truck, which was making a left turn into the dirt driveway.
 
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released pending family notification.
 
The driver of the truck, , 55, of Firebaugh, was not injured.
 
The crash is still under investigation.
