VISALIA, CA (October 16, 2020) – On Thursday morning, authorities arrested Vanessa Guevara-Sanchez after a crash on Acequia Avenue.

At about 1:00 a.m., the police responded to the parking structure at 300 E. Acequia Avenue near Kaweah Delta Medical Center. Upon their arrival, they located a woman with serious injuries.

After investigating, the officers found out that the woman rode on the roof of a car in downtown Visalia. However, as driver Vanessa Guevara-Sanchez drove into the parking structure, the woman hit her head. Afterward, she was thrown from the car, said Sgt. Curtis Brown.

The officers evaluated 21-year-old Vanessa Guevara-Sanchez. Subsequently, they arrested and booked her into Tulare County Pretrial Facility on suspicion of DUI causing injury.

Furthermore, the Visalia authorities set her bail at $100,000.

Meanwhile, responders transported the victim to Kaweah Delta, and is in “critical condition.”

Habits like distracted driving, speeding, and DUI can very much lead to road accidents. If you find yourself unable to safely operate a vehicle, you always have other options. For example, you can call a taxi service, Lyft, or Uber. Doing so helps to ensure your safety and the safety of others.

California Injury Crashes

Each year, around 20-50 million people are injured or become disabled due to an auto crash. Unfortunately, not everyone is properly informed about the things you should do next after an injury crash.

The most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Personal injury attorneys prioritize your recovery while securing your future from further losses a severe accident can bring.

“A common misconception is that personal injury lawyers don’t care. That is simply not true. Injury lawyers care about and want justice for their clients. We are driven by the desire to make our clients whole again,” says Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers, an attorney practicing for over 40 years.
