Woman Driver Hospitalized, UPS Truck Involved in Vehicle Crash on Highway 70

Quincy, CA (December 17, 2020) – On Wednesday, a woman was airlifted to a hospital after being injured in a vehicle crash on Highway 70.

The crash happened after 7 a.m. between Keddie and Highway 70/89 wherein the woman’s car was struck by a lumber truck and a UPS truck.

Apparently, the woman driving the Toyota sustained major injuries. Rescuers airlifted her to Enloe Medical Center in Chico for treatment.

On the other hand, the drivers of both trucks did not get injured.

The UPS truck driver was towing a trailer at the time of the incident. Similarly, it was speeding westbound on Highway 70 when it crossed into oncoming traffic and the Toyota.

The force of the crash sent the Toyota into oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, the vehicle was struck a second time by the lumber truck.

Immediately, the responders extricated the woman from the wreckage. Then they life-flighted her to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol investigates the crash.

Later on, the authorities reopened Highway 70 one-way traffic around 10 a.m. as crews cleared the wreckage from the roadway.

As a driver, it is your responsibility to be a proactive driver, rather than a reactive one. Additionally, driving defensively prepares you for many types of emergencies.
