Injuries Reported in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Ashlan Avenue and Blackstone Avenue

 
FRESNO, CA (August 8, 2021) – Friday night, a woman suffered injuries in a pedestrian crash on Ashlan Avenue and Blackstone Avenue.
 
The incident happened after 9:00 p.m. when a woman jaywalked. Moreover, it happened near Ashlan and Blackstone Avenues.
 
Then, a driver noticed her walking in the middle of the road and attempted to swerve out. However, it was too late.
 
The car struck the woman and the driver stopped to report to 911.
 
When the first responders arrived, they transported the woman to the hospital. She sustained moderate but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
“Because it’s dark and vehicles traveling by the time they see you and react, it happens quick. And in this case, she was unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian in the roadway,” said Fresno police Sgt. Paul Zarasua.
 
Moreover, the driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation.
 
The authorities said that the driver didn’t show signs of intoxication or impairment.
