Woman Struck and Injured by Car in Reno Pedestrian Accident on 580 Freeway
RENO, NV (June 26, 2019) – On Wednesday evening, a car hit and injured a woman in a pedestrian accident on 580 Freeway.
According to the Reno Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:57 near Meadowood Mall Way.
As per reports, the car involved and the pedestrian had the green light. However, the driver attempted to make a right turn onto the 580 on-ramp as the victim crossed the road. As a result, the driver did not notice the lady crossing and struck her.
First responders arrived at the scene shortly after and transported the victim to a local hospital. The woman suffered non-life threatening injuries. However, herr current medical condition is unknown at this time.
Law enforcement does not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors in the accident.
Police did not release the identity of the victim to the public.
The ramp closed for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. Police did not announce further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
