OLYMPIA, WA (January 8, 2025) – Monday afternoon, a woman suffered injuries in an alarming DUI crash on US Highway 12 and State Route 8.
The incident happened at around 4:20 p.m. on US Highway 12 and State Route 8 off-ramp.
A Montesano man driving a semi-trailer was heading west on U.S. Highway 12 at the state Route 8 off-ramp when he collided with an Olympia woman’s vehicle, according to reports. The woman was entering eastbound U.S. 12 from Elma/McCleary Road when the truck driver attempted a left turn and failed to yield, as stated by the State Patrol.
The Olympia woman was transported to Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma for her injuries. Her passenger, a 10-month-old baby girl, was unharmed, troopers reported.
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
