1 Hospitalized in Oakland Pedestrian Accident on Church Street and Bancroft Avenue

 
OAKLAND, CA (June 30, 2021) – Tuesday night, a woman sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Church Street and Bancroft Avenue.
 
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 10:16 p.m. It occurred at the intersection of Church Street and Bancroft Avenue near the Eastmont Mall.
 
Reports revealed that a westbound Volkswagen on Bancroft made a U-turn to Church Street. Then, it struck the 52-year-old woman, who was walking northbound on Bancroft.
 
Furthermore, responders transported the pedestrian to a hospital with major injuries after receiving treatment at the scene.
 
Moreover, the suspect vehicle fled the scene after the crash without stopping.
 
Meanwhile, officials said that there was no description of the hit-and-run driver as of this time.
 
Also, officers confirmed that it is still unknown if drugs and alcohol played a role in the incident.
