63-Year-Old Woman Hurt in Violent Pedestrian Crash on Costello Avenue [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (September 18, 2024) On Friday afternoon, a 63-year-old woman was severely injured after a pedestrian crash on Costello Avenue.

According to the LAPD, the hit-and-run crash happened on Sept. 6, at about 5:54 p.m., on Ventura Boulevard and Costello Avenue in Sherman Oaks.

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a hit-and-run driver who severely injured a 63-year-old woman.

Reports say that the driver of a black Hyundai sedan was traveling westbound on Ventura Boulevard when they made a left turn onto Costello Avenue and struck a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.

After the collision, the driver fled south on Costello Avenue and westbound on Davana Terrace without stopping to assist the victim.

Paramedics transported the injured woman to a hospital, where she is being treated for severe injuries.

The LAPD is investigating the pedestrian crash on Costello Avenue and reminded drivers of their legal duty to stop, assist, and notify emergency services after an accident.

Police are encouraging anyone with information about the incident to contact LAPD Valley Traffic detectives or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
