1 Injured in Sparks Bicycle Accident on Oddie Boulevard and El Rancho Drive
SPARKS, NV (June 27, 2021) – Saturday morning, a woman suffered injuries in a bicycle crash on Oddie Boulevard and El Rancho Drive.
The incident occurred at about 11:40 a.m. on Oddie Boulevard and El Rancho Drive.
Upon the officers’ arrival, they located a woman lying in the road. She sustained minor injuries to her head and lower extremities. Responders took her to a local hospital for treatment.
The officers determined that the vehicle driver headed south on El Rancho Drive. As the vehicle tried to turn right to go west onto Oddie Boulevard, the driver was focused on oncoming traffic. Hence, the driver failed to see the bicyclist who entered the road at the crosswalk.
Then, the driver made the right turn and hit the bicyclist. As a result, the bicyclist was ejected from the bicycle. Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the scene and has been cooperative with the investigation.
Also, members of the Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) came to the scene and handled the ongoing investigation.
Moreover, the authorities said that the road remained closed from around 11:40 a.m. until about 3:50 p.m.
Sparks Police urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has any information about the crash to call the Sparks Police Department at (775) 353-2231 or Secret Witness.
What’s Next after Bicycle Crash in Bay Point
According to NHTSA, pedestrian and bicyclist accidents continue to rise in the United States. More pedestrians and cyclists died in 2018 than in any year since 1990.
To avoid any involvement in such accidents, be a proactive driver, rather than a reactive one. Driving defensively prepares you for emergencies.
It is also crucial that everyone remain calm to properly handle the immediate aftermath of an automobile collision. Moreover, the most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney.
“A common misconception is that personal injury lawyers don’t care. That is simply not true. Injury lawyers care about and want justice for their clients. We are motivated by the desire to make our clients whole again,” says Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers, a practicing attorney.
