Woman Killed after Brentwood Big Rig Collision on Highway 4 near Balfour Road
BRENTWOOD, CA (September 8, 2019) — A big rig collision on Highway 4 killed a 70-year-old woman on Thursday, September 5.
Just after noon, CHP officers received reports of a crash involving a red Mercedes sedan and a semi-truck. They rushed to the scene on eastbound Highway 4 lanes at the westbound Balfour Road on-ramp.
When officers arrived, they discovered both vehicles on the right side of the on-ramp. Brentwood police also responded. After that, they found out that the semi-truck traveled eastbound on Balfour. As the truck turned left to enter the on-ramp, it collided into the Mercedes.
Paramedic airlifted the female driver of the Mercedes to John Muir Medical Center where she died. Her identity is not immediately released Thursday night.
The truck driver, identified only as a 59-year-old man, remained at the scene. He cooperated with investigators. There are no initial signs of alcohol or drugs as factors, police stated.
