Woman Dies in Multi-Car Collision on 41st Avenue Near Clares Street [Capitola, CA]

Driver Killed in Capitola Accident

 
CAPITOLA, CA (March 27, 2019) – A woman died in a multi-car collision on 41st Avenue near Clare Street Tuesday morning just after 10:00 a.m.
 
Around 10:15 a.m., crews responded to reports of a collision near the Chase Bank. It appeared a 60-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries after a van plowed into her Smart car, shoving her vehicle into a Metro city bus.
 
The identity of the woman has yet to be released by the coroner’s office.
 
Following the accident, officers had to shut down a section of 41st Avenue near the intersection due to investigations. As far as the other drivers go, the driver in the van was brought to a hospital for treatment.
 
Investigators do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role.
