Pedestrian Found Dead in Hit-and-Run Accident in Escondido

 
ESCONDIDO, CA (April 5, 2019) – Authorities are investigating Wednesday’s fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 78 near Rock Springs Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a caller reported seeing a victim on the right-hand shoulder of Highway 78 West.
 
Just after 6:30 a.m., medical professionals arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
At this time, authorities are withholding her name but have described her at a 26-year-old Escondido resident.
 
Although details are limited, investigators are continuing their search of the driver. Yet based on evidence, investigators determined that a green 2017 or 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan struck the woman.
