Officers Search for Suspect in Fatal Collision East of North Chester Avenue Extension
Oildale, CA (March 24, 2023) – On Wednesday, a 59-year-old woman lost her life in a hit-and-run crash on James Road.
CHP said the deadly accident happened at 10:39 p.m. east of North Chester Avenue Extension.
Investigating officers said the Bakersfield woman was walking within the westbound lanes on James Road when the driver of a southbound vehicle struck her.
The woman sustained major injuries and died at the scene while the driver fled the scene.
Officers are investigating the fatal accident. They said the use of drugs or alcohol as a factor in the deadly incident remains under investigation.
